กาลเวลาผันผ่าน สถานที่ต่าง ๆ ก็ผันแปรเปลี่ยนสภาพไป หากแต่วัฒนธรรมแห่งพุทธศาสนาเถรวาทในประเทศศรีลังกา ยังคงหยั่งรากลึก และดำเนินต่อไปตราบชั่วกาลนาน เฉกเช่นเดียวกับขบวนพิธีดาลาดะ เปราเฮระแห่งนครแคนดี้ ซึ่งจะถูกจัดขึ้นอีกเป็นครั้งที่ 1710 ในปีนี้ ตั้งแต่วันที่ 25 ก.ค. ถึงวันที่ 3 ส.ค.

โดยในพิธีจะประกอบไปด้วยนักเต้นรำ มือกลอง มือลงแส้ นักกายกรรมระบำลูกไฟกว่า 3,000 ชีวิต รวมไปถึงขบวนช้างอีกหลายเชือก ขบวนพิธีจะทอดยาวไปตามท้องถนน สะท้อนให้เห็นถึงวัฒนธรรมอันงดงามและพิธีกรรมอันศักดิ์สิทธิ์ เพื่อความเป็นสิริมงคลและขจัดปัดเป่าโรคภัยไข้เจ็บ ส่งเสริมความเจริญรุ่งเรืองให้แก่ชีวิต

นับเป็นวันอันงดงามที่สุดของเมืองแคนดี้ แม้ในยามค่ำคืนก็จะได้เห็นแสงสีอันงดงามตระการตา เป็นเทศกาลสำคัญที่ทุกท่านไม่ควรพลาดเป็นอย่างยิ่ง เพื่อเป็นการสักการะพระทันตธาตุอันศักดิ์สิทธิ์แห่งองค์สัมมาสัมพุทธเจ้า
